So how many of you watch (or did watch)the show "Dancing With The Stars"?I did and I was so happy that Kelly Monoco won because from the start they had the lowest scores and then in the end they were the only couple with a ten score let alone three tens. :D But anyways tell me what you think and if you do not watch the show then you probobly don't know what I am talking about so don't post a comment. For the ones that do watch it I want to hear what you have to say.

I watched all of the episodes except for last week's because somebody (*shakefist at my sister*) taped over it. I'm looking to see if there's a video clip of the dances online somewhere.

Anyway, I thought that Kelly did improve a lot, but I felt that based on the routines last night that John and Charlotte should have won. John's quickstep was more improved and just more lively and energetic than Kelly's samba (especially compared to the original weeks that they were danced -- I re-checked the video tapes of the shows) and Kelly and Alec's freestyle was just a disaster. She missed the entire middle section of the routine and the lift at the very end didn't dismount properly. (I'm sure she's going to have some nasty bruises on her knees from that one)

Don't get me wrong here either, I liked Kelly and Alec as well as John and Charlotte. I just felt that the wrong couple was in the lead after the judge's marks were released last night.

Ya I suppose.John and Charlotte did have better results in most of their dances I just think that Kelly and Alec are the ones that improved the most and made the biggest comeback. It just seemed proper for the comeback couple to win.Although John and Charlotte were more sophisticated in their dance styles and I have to say they were better dancers. But I do have to disagree with you about Kelly and Alec's freestyle.I thought that was very good and original and they did get three tens which no one else even got one ten.But I think those two were the right couples to end up in the final two.

I know what you're saying and you're right about the originality of the choreography. I just don't feel it was executed well enough to have deserved the lead.

However, I'm definitely looking forward to next season! (I heard it had been renewed for another season, but I haven't found any details on it yet)

Enjoyed this season and can't wait until next season. I wonder who the stars will be.

Did you know there are a few other dance shows hitting the screen this fall. Check it out!

Yes, there will be a next season and, likely, even more. The dancers actually signed contracts that give ABC options for 5 seasons. Jonathan's wife (who was in the demo clips with Louis) will also be included... she was actually signed on for the first season but her "star" had to back out.

Interesting... Thanks for the info SDsalsaguy! If the US show is as big of a hit as the UK and Australia shows, I'm sure we'll at least have five seasons.

My pleasure DDL.

Given that it was the #1 show in the U.S., i think it will get at least a thrid run... i.e. even if run #2 isn't as successful they may try sometweaking but still hope to re-capitalize on the success of season 1. If season 2 also hits #1, well, then we're just off to the races! :D

One can definitely hope! *crosses fingers*

I wonder who the "stars" will be this time around...

Speaking of the show, there are reports that over 22 million people viewed the finale - the most for a summer show since 2000, I believe.

Guess what I just realized...

Dancing with the Stars previously aired on Wednesday evenings. So You Think You Can Dance is slated to begin on Wednesday evenings. If both shows stay on the same night/time...we are all going to be in major trouble.

Me...I'll have double trouble. If things work out with a dance team thing I'm looking into I'll have practice on Wednesday nights as well. Looks like I'll have both TV/VCRs recording at home and I'll spend the weekend catching up.

Luckily for me, I don't watch tv, so I don't have to worry about finding time to squeeze it in around other shows...the big difficulty will come when I have to find time around my dance and exercise schedule.

I've really cut back on TV watching...but I really enjoy watching the dance related shows. :D What can I say? I'm obsessed!

Looks like I'll be living in VCR land for a little while.

Just a quick reminder in advance of tomorrow night's "Dance Off" . . .

Quote: ABC hopes to end the "Dancing With the Stars" controversy once and for all with a "dance-off" set for Sept. 20.

Winner Kelly Monaco and her partner, Alec Mazo, will take on second-place team John O'Hurley and Charlotte Jorgensen in the 90-minute special (7:30-9 p.m. on Channel 30). As ABC puts it: "Both champ and runner-up have agreed to reunite for one more electrifying showdown!"

In part because of a complicated and confusing voting structure, the result of the original competition led to complaints from supporters of O'Hurley. In the finale, judges gave Monaco and Mazo three perfect scores of 10 despite what seemed to be mistakes in the program.

The viewer vote, which Monaco and Mazo also won, was based not on that week's performance but on the previous dance. To solve that problem, ABC announced that it would add a results show to the second season of "Dancing," set to debut after the football season.

ABC also had to deny charges that it fixed the competition so that Monaco, who appears on ABC's "General Hospital," would win. O'Hurley is best known for the character of J. Peterman on "Seinfeld."

In the special, each pair will perform several styles of dance, including Latin and freestyle. The judges will return for commentary, but the viewer vote will decide the winners, with the results announced two nights later, on Sept. 22.

The special will also include dance demonstrations by the professionals from the series, Ashly Delgrosso, Jonathan Roberts, Edyta Sliwinska and Louis van Amstel.

Anyone watch the danceoff? What did you think?

I enjoyed it! I liked the dances both couples performed and they had some really nice "show" dances by professional dancers. Beautiful!

Who will win? Not sure... Guess we'll just have to wait until Thursday night to find out.
