Do you have a favorite movie about or featuring ballet?
I have quite a few favorite dance movies, but my favorite featuring ballet specifically would have to be "Center Stage." The movie follows the lives of a group of "close-knit" dancers as they take classes at the American Ballet Company and prepare for the Spring Workshop.
I saw this movie multiple times in the theater, bought it as soon as it was on DVD, and tend to watch it on a frequent basis.
The first time I saw the movie, I know I wanted to be a dancer. I went home, looked up dance studios in the phone book, and started dancing not more than one week later. Granted, I've never taken ballet, but the movie definately led me to the world of dance! |
