So I know that the sterotypical dancer is an thin long lean kinda person, but I was wondering what other body types there are?
I'm a 5'6" size 16 DD chunky monkey kind of a dancer, and I've been doing ballet for a long while.
On the other hand my friend Tiff is 5' 7" thin tall lanky size 0/1 dancer and has been dancing for a similar amount of time as me.
I enjoy breaking stereotypes.
I can't find any other forums that talk about plus size dancers so I found this and started my own!
: )
I look foward to hearing your feedback.

| There are many types of bodies. There are skinny, tall, long-torsoed, ppl like me. Skinny short torsoed ppl. Any one can be a dancer with any body type. |

STEREOTYPE BREAKER! Wh00t! How weird this is my first post, o well. Don't worry nightmare girl, that's not chunky at all. I am a 5'8" short and round(like a teapot), weighing at 245. One crack about my weight and I'm gonna grab the mod police and their bansticks! Bwhahaha! |

~I'm 5'4 and a half... and I'm edging into a size F...
I'm in proportion for my height etc, but it drives me to the point of depression when finding clothes for ballet, I hate it! They don't stock a large enough RAD leotard for me - as I was informed when I went shopping the first time after I took a break for three years... I was so not impressed it was unreal! what can you do though! |
