Hi,
I am not sure if I am allowed to start postings and stuff, but because there is already quite a few people on here and I can't find everyone's introduction I thought it would be very nice to have a topic where everyone says there names, ages, interests (there must be something apart fomr dancing ;)), how and why you started dancing, etc... just to know everyone better.

I'll start it:
I am Cami, I am 21, live in London (though I am with my parents in Madrid right now, summer break).
My interests apart from dancing are reading, medicine, singing and acting (I am a musical girl!!).
My other sports I am practising now that I cut down dancing lessons are climbing (wall climbing), kickball and frisbee.
I started dancing when I was about 3 in a baby-ballet class, taken ballet lessons once a week till I was 6, then 3 times a week till I was 14, then daily till 17 and then I had 2 to 3 classes daily until 19... now I have one class a week! I also took jazz (from 7 to 19), tap (7 to 19), funky (15 to 19), contemporary ballet (12 to 19), belly dancing (17 to 19)... I might be forgetting something.... I "quit" all my lessons when I got into "Cats" and now have about 4 lessons a week in college... not a lot!
I also did gymnastics until 17... I only entered competition for gym, never for dancing.
Ok, I have a twin brother who is studying as well and a little sister and a little brother. My sister dances funky, my brothers play the guitar and drums.
That is me in a nutshell anyways, hope this is OK with everyone and to get to know everyone better, love Cami

love to join in ^_^

Name's Maggie, I'm 19 and living in Minnesota, clsoe to Rochester, home of Mayo Clinic. My current interested are fashion design, art, more specifically drawing and doing concept art for my brother's computer game in progress, growing my herbs, and really anything else I will try at least once. Also currently playing around with the idea to create a business of my own in Rochester since there is a serious lacking of a nightlife here, possibly a ballroom dance club, but like I said, only an idea and I would like to wait until I am 21 to even considering trying to get something like that off the ground.

I started dancing ballroom not too long ago, about autumn of 2003 in community ed classes, have been hooked since. I am now in training to become a ballroom dance instructor, doing training everyday except weekends for about 5 hours. In my spare time though, I am checking out Irish dancing, although I need clarification on styles and such, as well as ballet. I also do belly dancing, still kind of new to it, but I love it and it helps with my latin motions ^_^

Yay! That was fairly easy ^_^

Happy to join the conversation, as well!

Due to Internet security, I prefer for my "real" name to remain anonymous. My signature line says "Miss Dance" but most everyone online refers to me as Dancer's Dream Land or DDL for short.

I am 25 years old and live in the central, north USA. I began dancing when I was 20 with ballroom, Latin, swing and line dance. From there, I've picked up belly dance, Irish, tap, and jazz. I've also done a little hula and some ballet by video.

Outside from actually dancing, most of my life revolves around dance in some form or another. I created, host, and maintain an extensive dance related website and enjoy spending time on this and the partner dance message boards.

I also enjoy reading, watching movies, spending time with my family, and pretty soon working on our house (we close this Friday!).

My turn! :)

My name is Debbie and I'm 24 years old. Most people on the forums I visit call me M though. I answer to either one. At the moment, I live outside of Toronto, Ontario and commute into the city to work every day.

I used to dance ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, lyrical, acro, irish and hula before being knocked out of commission almost two years ago. I'm just starting to get back into it again and have taken up ballroom dancing. Once I get some sort of balance sorted out in my schedule, I plan on taking up tap again because I miss it terribly.

Outside of the studio, I like to try and stay active. I go to the gym occasionally, swim as often as possible and I love being outdoors. Right now, I'm working as a test analyst for one of the big banks in Canada. I don't like it, but it pays the bills while I'm looking for something that I'll enjoy more. I also own my own web design business with my dad. We do websites and a number of different types of design projects. If we can make it successful enough, I would love to make it a full time venture.

When it comes to relaxing time, I love to read, write, paint, draw and just spend time out in the sun up at our family's cottage. It's in the middle of nowhere in northeastern Ontario and there's no place on earth I love more.

...and I think that's about it!

Like Medira, I'm a canadian girl. :D My name is Julz and i'm 15. I'm fairly athletic and grew up playing/participating in just about every sport you can name (like rugby, street hockey, gymnastics, swimming, etc.).

I quite recently took up dancing. I love it and hope that I will be a good dancer some day, although i'm not expecting any miracles. I only take 3 classes a week since my high school is very demanding and I need to have very good marks so I can get into the University of Guelph and one day, hopefully become a vet. Once I am a vet (if i make it as one) I'm hoping that my life will unfold and I'll have time to participate, and do the things that I love most, dance and horseback riding.

I can't wait to get out of school because there aren't enough hours in the day, although my parents tell me it's worse when you get older. hehe. Anyway, that's a bit about me! :D

I have family in Ottawa! :) Hehehe, I haven't been there in a few years. Love it though. I live in Hamilton. :) Best of luck with becoming a vet!

Oh yeah, and Canada Day here in the capital is soooo much fun!!! Next summer I am doing a week and a half long adventure camp in Banff and around there. I'm really anxious and excited to try mountain biking, deep sea fishing, sailing and rockclimbing and also return to doing some of the sports that i have previously done like white water rafting and other stuff like that (i can't remember it all).
Oooh, I'm envious! Have you ever been to Banff? It's absolutely gorgeous. :) Take a camera and lots of memory/film/batteries/etc. You'll end up with so many pictures!

Hi, my names Patrick and I'm an alcoh....

oh wait, wrong meeting.

I'm 24 in 2 weeks, I live in Sydney, Australia, I've lived here for 14years, since we moved north from Melbourne. I've done lots of styles of dancing, including ballet, tap, irish step, irish set, Australian bush dancing, and many many more. I am heavily into the Australian folk scene in general, being a big fan of the music, atmosphere, people & dancing.

When I am not dancing, I am often asleep. Occasionally I find time to go bush walking, or read a good book. Sadly good books are hard to find. My son, who is 2, lives with me on weekends, and we have a great time listeing to music, whilst I practice. I have two homes, my house that I pay rent for, and my local pub, a lovely Irish bar, that has a bistro that provides most of my nutrician. And many pints of Guinness.

I work in IT, and have often been told I am a big nerd/geek/nerdlinger, but I don't care, because it pays well, and I have fun. Work is simply a means to an end, namely, a way to pay for new dancing shoes, dance floors, dance nights, dance clothes, dance related medical treatment, etc etc.

hahaha, why did you choose lujan as you screenname? I have a friend here in Spain who is called Lujan (loo-han), after a virgin (you pray to "virgins" like Virgin Mary, and lots of others), so i thought you must be a spanish speaking girl... quite far away from the actual truth!

OK, have to go, Cami

hehe, yes, I realise that Lujan is a spanish girls name, I actually got the name from a fantasy series, The Empire Trilogy, its the name of a male character who I can identify with. The series is strongly based on Asian, particularly Japanese and early Chinese culture, so I pronounce the name with a hard J, (loo-jan), as it would sound in japanese. Its been my nick for so long there are people I work with who think its my real name.

I used to be a systems administrator, now I work for a company called EMC, doing senior support for them. Mostly unix stuff.

I did say I was a geek right ;)

Hi Angel! I know how hard it can be to find the time to post when you're spending so much time out doing what you love. We're glad to see you when you get a chance to stop by though! :)

Hey, my name's Matt, I'm from Massachusetts. I'm 18, and I bboy (breakdance...eh, hate that word). I've probably done the stupidest things out of all of us here in reference to dancing. I've spun on my head, slid on my head, jumped on my head, jumped on my neck, tried to do flips on a bad knee, tried to do hollowbacks on a hardwood floor (haha nobody knows how stupid that is). Anyways. And amazingly, it hasn't really affected my IQ yet. I think....
