hi! my mom bought me new tap shoes because they were on sale, but there're a little big on my feet! they fit well thoughout my foot but there's lots of room at the toes. do you think i can still use these safely/effectively if i just put cotton or something at the very end of the shoes?

I think if you have other tap shoes that still fit you should use them for awhile, maybe you'll grow into your new ones. If not, then depending on how much room is at the toes, you may have trouble....but then again that's really for you to decide.

It could be quite dangerous if there's a lot of room at the toes...

The only worry that I would have is if you tried going up on your toes because the cotton could compress.

It really depends on how big they are and if your feet are still growing. The general rule when fitting shoes, is that it is okay to have about a fingers width going across, that means that the shoes aren't too big, and that there is room for growth. The thing with tap is that there is so much movement, that your shoe should feel ultra supportive.
It is easy to roll your ankle in tap if the shoes are too big. Just be careful and pay attention to what your body is telling you. |
