Hi!!! I've been dancing for awhile now, and i have gotten awards like "Best New Starter" and "Senior Student of the Year". I've also passed many exams, been given solos etc. I started dancing ballet and jazz, and when my studio introduced a new hip hop syllabus, i took this up too (its more of a jazz hip hop. could be called "Funk.") Anyway, i've always been curious about tap. Should i start, and how long will it take me to get good, considering my past achievments. A girl who came to my studio danced ballet for 10 years, and took up tap. She found it easy to get into. This goes to show that a strong ballet grounding can get you to many places. What would you say are the benefits of tap? Is it fun?

It seems like fun...but its so different to all the other styles. who invented making noise with the feet anyway?

It is different but great fun when you get into it. The following article will explain its origin.
