| Hey all, I'm new here, and basically I just have a question that needs answering. Do you absolutely need to go out and buy a pair of special shoes for tap? I'm asking this because for xmas, someone got me a tap set that comes with everything, but the actually shoes (the taps and screws to screw them in are there) and to be honest, if I could use a pair of dress shoes that have the right sized heels, rather then trying to hunt down a store thats no wheres near my small town (I already no there isnt any) that sells the shoes, that would be great for me on a personal level. |

| I think it would be best to put the taps on an actual pair of tap shoes. As long as you know the tap brand and size you should be able to find the shoes somewhere. Check online stores. |

I think you should probably get actual tap shoes. They aren't too expensive This site has lots of specialty tap shoes and the prices aren't bad.
