Hello! My name is Maria V.! I go to a very strict Russian Ballet School. My teachers never pay any attention to me during class. They put me in the "second group" (the 1st group is for the best in the class) when I try so hard!!! They don't even bother to correct me, which make me feel sad because I am paying to learn, but I can't learn if I'm not corrected. What can I do to stand out?

I mean I do yoga, I stretch at home, I work on my feet constantly and I really am NOT that bad! And to be honest, some of the people in the "1st group" are not THAT great!

Wish I was some sort of ballet guru, dear Kirov_love. I have only taken ballet for a year in adult beginner classes, so what do I know? However, if you feel that your teachers are not paying any attention to you, then I would try to do something about it. Maybe if you tried to talk to them it would help, or if you're too intimidated maybe your parents could have a word with them. If you feel like you're not learning or getting no feedback, then I think you should try to get your message across.
My two cents. I'm sure more knowledgeable people will soon contribute, giev them some time. :)

I'm really sorry Kirov_love!!! Maybe you should talk to the head of your dance school. If you are really depressed, you may want to consider changing dance schools. That doesn't sound very pleasant where you are. I'm not sure either of those answers are very good, but at least they are answers lol. Good Luck!!!

Alright.

So, first, you should try to talk to your teachers. If that doesn't work, then try to listen to the other corrections that OTHER girls are getting. Even if this isn't really what they are saying directly to you, it will still help you. I listen to almost every correction a dancer is given, and I get better at my dancing! Just keep it up babe. If they still don't listen to you, then move to a different school.

Talking to your instructor might not be the best solution, because most of them are really arrogant and likely to give you a phlegmatic answer which could seriously make you consider giving up ballet. As the other girls said you should take into consideration the corrections that the teacher gives to your dance mates. I'm sure that the teacher knows that you're somewhere in the dance room and when you're too concentrated to give the best out of you, he is watching and considers any of your improvements. Good luck in being the best and distinguishing yourself!! :th;)

It maybe the best solution as sunshine said. And you have a point bc they are paying you to learn to why not be corrected. so talk to her.

ill say that rusian ballet stile its a realy strict kind of ballet and they ask for lots of flexibilyti and strenth ... well all of theme do but... well u get it..

if i where u i would do 3 things....
1. try to gett better as they said by listening to what the teacher says to the other gils, try to smile and dance with your heart (my teacher always tells us that in royal ballet smiling and dancing with your soul its the difernece between a merit and a distinction or a firs ballerina and one in the corps) and also try to do as you are streching and get more strength.

2. if first dosnt help then try talking to the teacher or to the administrators or to someone but dont give up for what they tell you cause as it has already been said they sometimes say some realy nasti things that might get you discorage but hey it might work youst dont give up..

3.If 1 and 2 dont work.... change of ballet school maybe try a difernt stile ill recomend royal or french , cuban its a little bit like the russian but if you like russian then try to find an other one mybe some day your teacher wolud be looking at you on stage as a beautifull ballerina and be depressed and fell bad for not paing atention to you :D

But whats most important DONT GIVE UP!!!
