My 9 year old son wants to take jazz and tap.
My question is, is there a difference in girls and boys jazz
shoes for beginners? If so, where do I find them and what size do I
get? Do jazz shoes usually run true to size? Also, where do I find
boys tap shoes? Is there a difference between girls and boys beginning
taps? What about size with taps also?
Any help would be appreciated. |

i may not be a teacher but i have assisted many teachers with boys in the classes. Most of the boys in the classes were wearing laced up oxford jazz gores or bloch jazz gores. As far as sizes, it pretty much just depends on what brand they are. You can get these shoes at many of the dancewear stores such as dees or body language, or others just depending on where you live. Online websites also have good prices on dance shoes, so ya.
Good luck finding what you need! sorry if i wasn't much help |

| oh, ya for tap shoes... Girls beginning tap shoes have a cut out on the top and they a bow lacing them together, but boy beginner tap shoes are covered. Tap shoes tend to run small but not all do, so i would have him try them on. After he has been in tap for a while and he is going to stay in tap, i would recommend leo's black and whites or bloch tap shoes because they wear well, fit feet well, and last longer. I have tap almost my entire life and i have always used black and whites |
