I took ballet from age 3-13, but I'm about to start taking it again starting tomorrow.
I was never really a huge fan of pointe when I was younger, but I love it now and would really like to do it someday. But I'm already almost 17 (6 more days. Woohoo!) and a rising high school senior.
Do you think it's too late for me?
I have to rebuild my technique up and stuff and I just don't know if I'll ever be able to do it, since a lot of pointe dancers that I know have been taking ballet for years before they start pointe.
How long did you guys take ballet before starting pointe? |

| You definitely can do it! Especially if you have taken ballet already. You might have to work really hard though... It took me about a year and a half to get my pointe shoes. I started when I was a 13  . I hope that helps :D |

WOW.. it hapend exactly the same to me....
I started ballet at the age of 3 and i left it at 12, then i restarted at 15 almost 16... the truth is, it was hard at first, because i was remembering the steps and stuff, the good thing was i never stpoed doing exercise so my muscles were strong, but my posture was all wrong, Ill say just listen to wat the teacher says, try to remember it so that you would do better each time, also exercise at your home, you can do some pushups and abbs and stuff like that so that youll get stronger, also do some releves(spelling :S) it would help you for point....
And dont worry, after i restarted ballet it took me like a month to start point again(before i left ballet i did point for like a year) Also when you do point be shure to go on demipoint and then into full point that will give you strenght. And dont worry its never too late specialy for you your still jung :D..... |
