Hi everybody :) I have been learning jazz dancing for last one year. I am having trouble with my jazz shoes. The soles are made of rubber and have corrugations on the surface. When I try pirouettes they tend to get stuck to the floor, i mean, the rubber soles generate too much friction and i am unable to complete one pirouette and again same problem when i have to chasse :( . When I use my regular canvas shoes (sneakers) this problem doesn't arise. Can anybody please advise me ? :? Are jazz shoes available in some other soles?

Hi there.
Bloch makes a shoe called JazzFlex and they have a suede sole which would greatly improve your turning.
www.blochworld.com is the official website, I am not sure if you can order from them directly, or have your local store order, but they usually run about a 1/2 small. For instance, if your street shoe is a 8, you might want an 8 1/2. So it is worth it is to go and try them on first to get the proper fit.
