Hihi...nice to meet u :)
Oh..camel walk...I like that :D

I have been learning at a dance school in singapore for almost a yr. I started in November last year. Just completed my 8 sessions of drum solo...now awaiting a newer session of choreography class.
My lesson is an hour each week...but within the week, I make it a point to practise what I've learnt at least twice before the next lesson...I don't really watch video so I guessed I am not very sure about the movements they taught in videos....though some of them mainly teach belly roll, hip drop, undulations and camels...as well as the vertical/horizontal figure 8 :)
Just takes lots of practise...and find good music to practise different rhythm and speed of the dance moves!

If I haven't mentioned in another thread (sorry it's been a crazy week), welcome to the Dance Forums, danceonclouds!

I am delighted to see another bellydancer has joined our ranks. Bellydance is probably my most favorite style of dance. It's so sensual, holistic, and overall fun. I love enjoying my body and there is strength in dancing with other woman who don't judge you or your style. It's just so uplifting and inspiring.

I've been dancing bellydance for... We'll I'm not entirely sure. I want to say over three years, and it has taken practice, practice, practice to get my body to loosen up in the proper ways. I think my all time favorite move is the camel and I recently saw someone do this while lying on her side... I think it's call a snake? Anyway, it's my new bellydance goal to be able to do that.

Looking forward to chatting with you more on the boards.

Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Belly dance is probably my most favorite style of dance to actually dance. There's just something about the beauty of a woman's body moving in ways it was designed to be moved.

Read "Grandmother's Secrets" and "Snake Hips." They are fantastic belly dance books. You'll absolutely love them!
