| I tried out for my school's dance team a couple days ago and didn't make it! I am really disappointed because I have been dancing for a long time; I just got so nervous that I completely blanked out in front of the judges! This is something I really want and am more than capable of doing, so I am trying out again in 2 months. Does anyone have any tips to help me stay calm during tryouts so I don't freeze up again??? |

It's a good thing they have try-outs again though!
But you HAVE to make it in those.
I understand how you feel with the whole I-think-i'm-gonna-pass-put-in-front-of-the-judges thing.
Like me for example. I get super nervous in meets for track, but I do a few things to keep me calm:
1. Take deep breaths
2. Count slowly to 10
3. Keep your thoughts preoccupied so that you have no time to think about how you might mess up. Think about your next move, or how the school dance is coming up and you might want to invite your crush.
4. Zone out. It's just you and that plat form. No judges, no auidence, just you.
