I have been trying to work on my passe lately, and I noticed that when I put the toe of my working leg on my knee, my hip raises quite a bit. I was first told to passe lower, and over time it would get better.
But yesterday I was told that because of my hips (I am VERY turned out naturally - my legs and feet are flat on the floor in the "frog stretch") that it is actually ok, and more important that my knee reaches 90 degrees, since mine does really easily. [i:6472748d6a]So which advice is correct??[/i:6472748d6a]
Also, I've noticed when watching dance videos, that some dancers hold their foot further [u:6472748d6a]over[/u:6472748d6a] their knee, as opposed to on the inside edge, as I was taught. Does anyone know why this is, and if one way is superior??
Thanks for the advice!!! |
