Hello everyone! :)

I'm not a trained dancer, but I have been involved in a lot of musical theatre here in the UK since I was 10 (i'm now 22), so have taken a fair bit of choreography in my time! :D

Was just wondering - you can obviously get grades for musical instruments from various exam bodies - I was wondering is there such a thing for dance in the UK?

I know it probably a really obvious & stupid question to someone dance literate, but I've always been curious and cannot find anything online! :?

Can you grade? If so, is there just one examining body or several? Which disciplines can you grade in? [ballet? tap? modern? ...? ]

Also, how are you graded? 1-8 like music, or bronze, silver, gold like DofE, or...?

As detailed an answer as possible would be greatly appreciated. :)

Many, MANY thanks in advance x
