Okay...let's get this board started!
Did you know there are MANY Irish dance shows you can go to see in person or to purchase on video. Here are a few of which I am aware:
~ Lord of the Dance
~ Riverdance (there are several versions...)
~ Feet of Flames (basically Lord of the Dance on steroids...bigger, better)
~ Gaelforce Dance
~ Spririt of the Dance
I've seen all of these either in person or on DVD except Spirit of the Dance. Unfortunately, I purchased a video of it through Ebay and it totally did NOT work in my VCR...bummer!
Out of all these, my favorite is Feet of Flames...the costumes, set, staging and of course the dancing. It's essentially the Lord of the Dance show with a few additional dance and music numbers AND it is much bigger. I believe it is comprised of the five or more performance troups who travel and perform Lord of the Dance.
I'll pull together some additional info on each of the shows and list as seperate postings.
A few quick questions, though, to keep this thread rolling. Have you heard of or seen any of these shows? Which one is your favorite? |

Oh how fun! Anything related to Irish dancing is such a good time...whether it's watching it, dancing for the pleasure, or actually performing it.
Enjoy your friend's show! |

From the "Movie Madness" section of my website you can learn about various dance movies... The Irish dances listed in my previous post are listed there along with links to their homepages where you can learn more about the show, the dancers, etc. Check it out!
(PS: Link to my site is in the signature line of each of my posts...so you'll always have access! :D) |
