I was wondering is 3 too young to begin jazz classes. I was thinking about ballet and tap but I think my daughter would like jazz better. So, I was wondering if I should do the ballet and jazz instead. I was just wondering.

Hi ... I'm only 11 but I started dancing when I was 4 and 1/2. I started in a tap / ballet class. 30 minutes of each. I liked the tap because of the sounds the shoes made. I loved ballet too tho. But it was good because it was half and half. Then the next year I started seperate classes for jazz, ballet and tap. and then the next year added hip hop and modern and lyrical. And NOW I love EVERYTHING. LOL

It doesn't matter what age you are. If you want to try it, then just go ahead and do it. It can be enjoyed by anyone, don't worry about age.

I really think you should start your child off with ballet. It will help them with technique and to become strong. Maybe after a year or so then you could throw in some jazz and tap classes to give her options. She will decide in the end what she likes best.
