Just wondering if I could get some new ideas for games to play with kids in dance class. I teach all different ages starting at 3years up to 13 so all ideas would help!!

freeze dance. you play music and tell the kids to improv any type of dance to that music. then you randomly stop the music, everyone must freeze in their last position. If any moves while the music is stopped or doesn't stop they are out, you cont. to play until you have one person left. It's alot of fun!

Sounds like a good idea Notsopointless! :D I don't know if it works for kids, but what about having one kid at a time show some steps and have the rest of the class follow them copying the moves? :P

one of my favorite games when i was little was when everyone stood in a circle and one person started by doing some sort of step. the next person would do the same thing. then the third person could do the same thing or change it. the way you faced when you ended the step was the way it traveled. it sounds kind of hard but it's really easy once you get a hang of it.

You could play a game where you start with one person and have them make a dance move, then go to the next person and they add onto that, then the third person has to do the 1st 2 things and add on to that....etc. It's a game my mom plays with her students but i wouldnt try it with 3 or 4 year olds.
