Hi, i'm a member of my highschool's dance team. We dance at halftimes at basketball games and to make a long story short.. we are in desperate need of dance songs. We're a hip hop/jazz dance team, we dance to anything and everything but we're having difficulty finding awesome songs. We're not looking for a popular song like Chris Brown's "run it" but just a song that would get the crowd real into it and pumped. Last year we used Ying Yang Twin's "Shake", and we've used "Believe" from the honey soundtrack, and they both were a favorite of the crowd..they loved them. Please, any suggestions? We need a song that will make our school really pay attention to us.

Piece of Heaven
Everytime we touch

All I can think of at the moment is Too much Booty (in da pants) by Soundmaster T.

Very fast catchy song. Sorry I couldnt have been more help. Maybe something by Ja Rule/Black eyed Peas... hmmm dunno...Me against the music by Britney and Madonna is a great song to dance to but its not hiphop at all.

Good Luck.

I don't have any suggestions but for Hip-Hop upbeat songs always work, and never use popular ones because then the crowd will be so caught up in singing along to the song they won't bother watching you. Jazz songs should always be slow, so that you have time to put feeling and mood into your dance steps.

Jazz songs shouldn't always be slow! That would be a more lyrical dance - that you would put the feeling into.

I'm a huge Amuro Namie fan, a lot of her songs are heavy in dancing hip pop sort of stuff. you can go to youtube and check out some of her videos, a lot of dance performances and schools have also used her music for competitions (based on youtube videos).

Songs I'd suggest from Amuro Namie are:

1. Do or Die
2. Want me, Want me
3. No
4. Uh Uh ft. AI
5. Hide and Seek (new song, very drum line sort of beat)
6. Hello
