| Hi, am new to this forum & was just wondering, how hard is it to Irish Dance? I really want to take it up but have arthiritis in my ankles. I horseride alot etc so it doesn't really affect it & I wouldn't dance competetively I don't think. Just wondered what all your views were? Thanks in advance :D |

I'd ask a professional first Irishgirl. I did Irish dancing when I was younger, and I'm fairly sure that the stuff at the beginning isn't very bad on the ankles, but as you get better, it gets very tough. From what I've heard and know, Irish dancers end up with ankle problems, so your best bet is to ask a doc or a teacher (depending on where you live, and whether a doc would know much about it), and see what the story is :)
Good luck :D |
