Article snippet from the June 2005 edition of Dance Teacher magazine:
Keep you eyes open this summer for Let's Dance: Bailemos stamps from the United States Postal Service (USPS). The stamps, designed by Ethel Kessler, celebrate Latin dance with motifs representing four different genres: salsa, merengue, mambo and cha-cha.
Here's another quote about the series from the USPS webite:
"Stamp collectors won't have to do the "Hustle," but they'll need to move fast to get the Let's Dance / Bailemos (Let Us Dance) stamps of dancers moving to the rhythms of the cha-cha-cha, the mambo, the merengue and the salsa to celebrate Latino pop and tropical salsa traditions in July."
I can't wait till July! I'll have to pick up a set for my scrapbook/dance collection. |

The Let's Dance Bailemos stamps are now available in the U.S.A. at the post office. These stamps are self-adhesive, come in sheets of 20, and are printed in four colorful designs: Merengue, Salsa, Cha Cha Cha and Mambo. My favorite is the Mambo stamp.
You can check them out/order them online at: shop.usps.com/cgi-bin/vsbv/postal_store_non_ssl/display_products/productCategory.jsp?prodCat=/Stamps+by+Subject/Lets+Dance |
